About
ReWild Eugene is a community of people dedicated to the vision of reclaiming our human heritage as caretakers of the earth. ReWilding means different things to different people. As a community our definition of ReWilding is whatever our members want it to be. Our energy is positive and our mood is welcoming. Our people have such varied interests as tracking, survival, food preservation, basketry and fiber arts, permaculture, tree climbing, urban harvesting, boating and archery. We exist to support these interests and more. Many people are aware that our current way of life on this planet is unsustainable. We cannot go on living the way that we have been and expect to survive. We strongly believe that the way out is not by tearing down our existing society but by fostering better ways of living, some new and some ancient. To quote Albert Einstein, “Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.” In the same spirit humanity cannot be saved by force but a sustainable future can be achieved through understanding.
We invite you to call us, email us, or just show up to one of our free monthly skill shares. ReWild Eugene is also beginning to focus on classes and programs for kids, teens and adults. Check it out on our calendar of events. If you have a program you would like to attend then let us know. Someone else probably wants to learn the same thing that you do. Likewise, if you have a program that you would like to teach but you don’t know where to start we would love to help you make it happen. We would love to get to know about your passions because a community is only as good as its people. What does ReWilding mean to you?
